LONGVIEW, WA (KPTV) -

Fox 12 viewers stepped up in a big way to help an Army veteran and his family who lost everything in a house fire.

Two weeks ago, Brandon Lovato came home to find flames tearing through his living room in Longview. He and his wife and their three young kids had just moved in a few months ago after he served in the Army for six years.

Some generous viewers who saw Fox 12’s story collected donations for them and on Saturday, they met with the Lovatos to deliver everything.

Santa even showed up to greet their children, and they had fun with pirate costumes, too.

Viewer Caren Gimper told Fox 12 her own son served in the Army for 10 years, and she knew she wanted to do something to help.

A big thank you to Caren and everyone else who pitched in to make the Lovatos' Christmas a little brighter.
