Les Schwab offers to replace firefighters' slashed tires for free

Les Schwab Tire Centers is stepping up to help four Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue firefighters whose tires were slashed while they were out responding to emergencies.

TVF&R said the firefighters returned to the station on Southwest Brockman Road in Beaverton shortly after 2:15 p.m. Thursday and found the tires on their personal vehicles slashed.

A vehicle belonging to a citizen also had its tires slashed. Tires on emergency vehicles were not damaged.

On Friday, TVF&R posted on Facebook that Les Schwab offered to replace all of the tires for free.

Beaverton police are investigating the tire slashings, which officers believe occurred sometime between 12:30 p.m. and 2:15 p.m. Thursday.
