PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A water main break closed part of Southwest 2nd Avenue in downtown Portland on Friday.

Portland Water Bureau crews responded to the area between Southwest Jefferson Street and Madison Street at around 10:30 a.m.

The water main is a 16-inch cast iron pipe from 1906, according to the Portland Water Bureau.

Water service for the area has not been interrupted.

There was no timeline for reopening the road.

Another water main break occurred near Southeast 82nd Avenue and Ellis Street on Thursday night.
