Police searching for car seller who stabbed would-be buyer in Longview

LONGVIEW, WA (KPTV) -

A man selling a car stabbed a would-be buyer over a price dispute in Longview, according to police.

Officers responded to Walmart on the 500 block of 7th Avenue at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Investigators said a man and his wife responded to an online ad for a used car for sale and agreed to meet the seller at Walmart.

After a test drive, police said there was a dispute over the price. The victim said the seller then stabbed him.

The victim's wife said the seller also robbed her and then drove away.

A witness called 911 and police responded in just over a minute, but the suspect was not found. Police said they are actively investigating several leads.

The man who was stabbed was taken to the hospital. An update was not provided on his condition.
