Police: Black ice causes crash on Hwy 99E in Woodburn

WOODBURN, OR (KPTV) -

Police say two boys were injured in a crash on Highway 99E in Woodburn Friday afternoon.

Crews responded to the crash just after 12 p.m. after a car going north hit black ice and crossed into southbound lanes, colliding with another vehicle.

One of the cars had several children inside, including a 7-year-old boy who was ejected. He was flown to OHSU by lifeflight with head and spinal injuries.

Police say an 11-year-old boy was also taken to OHSU by ambulance. The state of his injuries is unknown at this time.

Two adults who were in the car going southbound were taken to a local hospital. The extent of their injuries is unknown.

Both directions of Highway 99E were closed for several hours.
