PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Crews with Portland Fire and Rescue evacuated residents as a precaution after reports of a gas leak at a restaurant Saturday morning.

Both PF&R and Portland police responded to the call on the 5300 block of Southwest Macadam Avenue around 8:40 a.m.

According to fire officials, a burner had been left on in the restaurant, but crews were able to get the gas shut off and vent the building safely.

PF&R officials also said the buildings in the area were evacuated as a precaution and that traffic was diverted from the scene as crews vented the building.

Crews confirmed that the evacuation had been lifted and normal traffic restored by 10 a.m.
