CAMAS, WA (KPTV) -

Crews from the Camas-Washougal Fire Department responded to reports of a fire at Wafertech in Camas Saturday afternoon.

Once they arrived, crews found a fire near a 3,000-gallon hydrogen tank, with flames close enough to come in contact with the tank.

Firefighters immediately began to spray the tank to keep it cool, then vented it to release a large cloud of hydrogen vapor, which fortunately did not ignite. Crews were eventually able to vent all contents from the hydrogen tank.

Company safety and hazmat technicians were at the location of the fire to assist in the response and direct emergency personnel. Crews from the Vancouver Fire Department and the Camas Police Department also responded.

Roads near the scene were closed while crews were battling the fire as a precaution. There were no injuries reported during this incident.
