LEBANON, OR (KPTV) -

The Walmart store in Lebanon was evacuated Thursday morning due to a possible pipe bomb in the building.

Investigators later determined the item was a firework.

Police said the store was being evacuated at 10:40 a.m. for "precautionary purposes."

The Oregon State Police bomb squad was called out to investigate. The bomb squad removed the device and determined it was a "confetti pop" firework with the wrapper torn off.

Officers checked the immediate area and did not find anything else suspicious.

By 12:40 p.m., police said the situation was deemed safe, Walmart reopened and the business resumed normal operations.
