PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

This weekend leading up to the Fourth of July on Tuesday will likely be a busy one – and options for plans are not in short supply. While record numbers of people are expected to hit the road for the holiday, there are plenty of events for folks staying in the Portland metro area.

The Portland Craft Beer Fest is back in northwest Portland Friday through Sunday to highlight tasty micro brews. The festival is 21+ its first two days but children are welcome Sunday. Molly Riehl got an insider look at what this year’s festival has to offer

GEAR Con, a convention that’s all things Steampunk, is this weekend. Attendants can expect Victorian sci-fi fun at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Portland. Joe V. as Professor Josip Googletops previewed the event earlier this week

The 30th annual Portland Waterfront Blues Fest runs Friday through Tuesday is jam-packed with 150 musical performances. Blues fans interested in attending can find festival information at WaterfrontBluesFest.com

Whatever anyone chooses to do outside, they should see lots of sun. The weekend weather is expected to be warm and dry
