Police said a man was ambushed, handcuffed and robbed after he entered a Hillsboro home expecting to meet a prostitute Sunday night. When the man attempted to get away, another man fired several gunshots at him.

The Hillsboro Police Department said they were called to the scene in the 1200 block of Southeast Roundelay Street around 11:30 p.m.

Police said the man entered the home expecting to meet a prostitute but he was attacked, handcuffed and robbed instead.

The man was able to escape and took off down the street.

The victim told police as he was running down the street, another man fired about five gunshots at him. He was not hit.

The shooting suspect is described as a Hispanic man in his 20s or 30s, six feet tall with dark hair and tattoos on both arms.

The victim fled the scene and called police.

Two young women were at the home when police arrived. Neighbors reported seeing a group of people get into a car and drive away shortly after the incident.

Officers have currently surrounded the home and are waiting for a search warrant to enter the property.

More information will be released as soon as it is available.
