NEAR PRINEVILLE, OR (KPTV) -

A 200-acre fire in Central Oregon is burning just north of Prineville.

The Grizzly Fire broke out on Grizzly Mountain North about halfway between Prineville and Madras Monday afternoon.

A Level 1 Pre-Evacuation Order was in place for Grizzly Mountain Road and the north end of Ochoco West but has since been lifted

CCSO says there is heavy smoke in the area of Prineville and residents are asked to stay indoors if they have trouble breathing or if they have respiratory conditions.

Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF), Crook County Fire and Rescue, Crook County Sheriff’s office, Crook County Search and Rescue, Jefferson County Sheriff’s office, Oregon State Police, and 2 Air Tankers are working together to contain the fire.

It is not known at this time how much of the fire is contained or what started the fire.
