Recent undercover missions addressing online sex trafficking by Portland police led to nearly 20 arrests, officials reported Monday.

According to the Portland Police Bureau, investigators with the Sex Trafficking Unit posted online ads on known sex trafficking websites, and the men arrested contacted the officers to arrange payment for sexual acts.

The investigators are not releasing information on the sites or app used in these stings, or the text in used in the ads, for investigative reasons, but they did thank the Portland area hotels involved for their assistance.

While most of the men arrested were from Oregon and a few from Washington, officers also arrested men from Michigan, California, Idaho, Arizona and New Mexico for commercial sexual solicitation.

  • 21-year-old Jonathan Erickson of Ironwood, Michigan

Biegalke also faces a charge of third-degree sex abuse.
