PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A man is facing charges for stealing air monitoring equipment from the scene of a large warehouse fire.

Jarid Easton was arrested Saturday and now faces charges of first-degree aggravated theft, second-degree criminal trespass and second-degree criminal mischief.

According to court documents, Easton was caught on camera cutting through a fence and stealing air monitoring equipment on North River Street.

The documents then state that the worker in charge of the equipment located the truck in the area, and officers responded and found Easton in the truck with the equipment in the back.

The equipment was being used to monitor the air following a large warehouse fire under the Fremont Bridge back in May.

The warehouse was destroyed, and asbestos fibers in the debris became airborne. The EPA has been monitoring the site since that time.
