CORVALLIS, OR (KPTV) -

Eight people called the Clark County Sheriff’s Office and positively identified a man who robbed two victims after claiming to have a phone for sale on the OfferUp app, according to court documents.

Deputies asked for the public’s help tracking down the suspect and released a photo of him that was taken by one of the victims.

Police said the suspect listed an iPhone for $500 using the OfferUp app and agreed to meet a buyer outside a business on the 3800 block of Northeast 80th Street on Saturday.

A probable cause affidavit states the suspect motioned for one of the victims to come toward him, told him, “you robbed my sister,” demanded the money and lifted his shirt to expose the handle of a handgun.

The victim said he had never met the seller or his sister.

The victims said the suspect took their money, but not before one of them took a photo of him.

After the photo was released by deputies, court documents state the sheriff’s office received repeated calls identifying the suspect as “Sean Andres.”

One caller said Andres is a “known thief” at Oregon State University and that his room in Corvallis is filled with stolen property, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Deputies determined the suspect was 20-year-old Sean Andres-Delacruz. He was found and arrested in Corvallis.

His previous address was listed in Oregon City.

Information sent to detectives from OfferUp showed Andres-Delacruz sent out multiple messages from numerous accounts to set up a wide array of potential meeting places with would-be buyers, including locations in Oregon City, Corvallis and Clark County.

Andres-Delacruz was booked into the Benton County Jail and faces charges of first-degree robbery in Clark County.
