KLAMATH COUNTY, OR (KPTV) -

A Klamath County teacher was arrested Thursday for misconduct involving a former student.

Oregon State Police said on May 23 Klamath Falls Detectives were made aware of a sexual relationship between Lost River High School teacher Jeffrey Vincent, 35, and one of his former high school students, who is now 19 years old.

An investigation revealed the relationship began when the former student was still attending Lost River High School.

The relationship went on for a significant period, and the former student was 18 years old when the sexual relationship began, according to OSP.

OSP said enough information developed over the course of the investigation that a warrant was issued for Vincent's arrest.

On Thursday, Vincent was arrested and lodged at the Klamath County Jail on two counts of official misconduct in the first degree, two counts of coercion, and one county of tampering with a witness.

Vincent was placed on administrative leave by the Klamath County School District.
