PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A woman sitting on a bench at a MAX station in southeast Portland was hit by a car Friday morning and the driver was arrested on hit-and-run and DUII charges.

Emergency crews responded to Southeast 122nd and Burnside at around 11:20 a.m.

First responders found an injured 59-year-old woman at the scene. She was taken to the hospital with injuries described as non-life threatening.

Officers followed a trail of debris from the scene and located the suspect and his car a few blocks away.

Investigators said the driver, 21-year-old Jesus Gomez-Reynel, was turning east from southbound 122nd Avenue when he drove onto the MAX platform, hit and injured Olson and then drove away from the scene.

Police said Gomez-Reynel was impaired by alcohol. He was arrested and booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of DUII, hit and run, criminal mischief and reckless driving.
