CAMAS, WA (KPTV) -

Camas-Washougal Fire officers helped rescue a dog that was trapped down a steep canyon in Camas since at least Wednesday morning.

The dog was heard barking from somewhere downhill, and it took officials two hours to pull her to safety using a makeshift harness.

She appears to be a 5-year-old German shepherd and was not hurt.

This rescue was particularly tricky because of the canyon, which officials say was a series of 90-degree drops and shelves.
