SALEM, OR (KPTV) -

A multi-vehicle crash shut down part of Mission Street in Salem on Monday.

Emergency crews responded to the scene at 2:50 p.m.

Investigators said a woman was driving west on Mission Street when she suffered what appears to have been a medical incident.

The woman crashed into two other vehicles that were stopped in the turn lane at the intersection.

The woman’s car stopped for a short time, then continued moving forward and hit two more vehicles.

The last collision caused the car to flip onto its top.

The woman was trapped in the car. Firefighters rescued her and she was taken to the hospital.

There were no other injuries, according to police.

The Salem Police Department reported that the westbound lanes of Mission Street were closed at 25th Street Southeast.

People were advised to avoid the area.
