PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Services have begun at the new Right 2 Dream Too camp that has moved to its new location near the Moda Center.

On Tuesday, services opened at the new R2D2 camp between the Moda Center and the Willamette River.

Back in April, the city forced the camp to move from its location at Northwest 4th Avenue and Burnside.

Camp organizers spent a few months looking for the new location and preparing the site.

FOX 12 spoke with a volunteer about what's offered to the homeless campers.

"You are able to come here and get 12 uninterrupted hours of sleep if you're homeless because you can't out there. You know, people get moved out by security, police, and we don't want people to get harassed," said Rafael Myztik.

The new location isn't a permanent location for the R2D2 camp. They are only allowed to stay there until October, when the city's homeless crisis declaration is set to expire.

R2D2 camp organizers hope to negotiate more time.
