PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A hit-and-run crash sent a car into a Popeyes restaurant in southeast Portland.

Emergency crews responded to the 8100 block of Southeast Foster Road at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Witnesses told police there was an initial collision between two cars. One of the cars then crashed into the Popeyes building and the driver of that car was taken to the hospital with injuries initially described as serious and later called non-life threatening by police.

Investigators said the injured driver had made an illegal right turn into Popeyes from the centermost southbound lane.

The turn was made in front of a black Range Rover, which led to the crash.

The driver of the Range Rover then left the scene.

Police said the Range Rover will have front driver’s side damage. Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the Portland Police Bureau

The driver who crashed into Popeyes was cited on charges of unlawful turn and careless driving contributing to an accident.
