CASTLE ROCK, WA (KPTV) -

A man with a felony warrant was arrested after a SWAT standoff near Castle Rock.

The Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office assisted the U.S. Marshals Service in taking 43-year-old Casey Allen Christianson into custody Tuesday night.

Deputies said Christianson has a history of assaults and a warrant was issued for his arrest by the Department of Corrections.

Christianson was tracked to a motorhome on Camelot Drive south of Castle Rock on Tuesday night. Deputies said he was believed to be armed and he refused to come out.

Lower Columbia SWAT responded to the scene. After an hour of negotiations, Christianson came out of the motorhome and was taken into custody without further incident.

The Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office utilized a drone during the mission. It was the first time the department’s drone was used for a SWAT situation.

Deputies said it was a valuable tool that allowed SWAT commanders to see an overhead view of the scene in real time.

The sheriff’s office has three certified drone pilots.
