Two days after two saddles were stolen from a barn near Kelso, the victim's father spotted them for sale on Craigslist.

The saddles and several bridles were stolen on Fishpond Road on Sunday.

Steven Graves called the Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday to report seeing the stolen items listed for sale on Craigslist.

Graves contacted the woman who posted the ad, claiming to be a potential buyer.

The seller agreed to meet Graves in the Woodland area to sell the saddles.

Deputy Landen Jones worked with Graves to be in the area when the suspect showed up.

Janet Yvonne Hemenway, 47, of Longview, arrived as planned, according to deputies, with the stolen saddles and tack.

Investigators said Graves immediately recognized the items as belonging to his daughter.

Deputies said Hemenway admitted to stealing the items. She was arrested on charges of second-degree burglary, first-degree trafficking of stolen property and second-degree possession of stolen property.
