BEAVERTON, OR (KPTV) -

A violent sex offender with a long criminal history has been arrested in Beaverton.

An arrest warrant was issued Thursday for Dennis John Davis, 58, after he cut off his electronic monitoring device.

Davis was last known to be near the Beaverton Transit Center. That’s where his GPS unit was found.

Davis was in violation of his parole and has failed to report to his parole officer.

Multnomah County Department of Community Justice said Davis was arrested in Beaverton around 7:30 p.m. No other information about his arrest is available at this time.

Davis was sentenced to prison in 1993 on charges including kidnapping and rape. The crimes were committed in 1990.

The court designated Davis as a dangerous offender at that time. His criminal history also includes non-sexual violence convictions, property crimes and rape convictions involving male and female victims who were strangers to him.

Davis has been jailed 10 times for parole violations since being released from prison in June 2015, according to Multnomah County records.

Police asked for the public’s help tracking down Davis in June 2015 because he cut his monitoring device at that time, as well. He ended up turning himself in to police.
