PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A man was arrested early Sunday morning, accused of shooting a gun in the Montavilla Neighborhood.

Police said officers responded to the report of gunfire in the area of Northeast 93rd Avenue and Glisan Street at around 5:10 a.m.

An alert citizen reported hearing gun shots and provided a description and possible location of the suspect, according to Portland Police.

Officers later found the suspect based on the 911 caller’s description.

As officers spoke with the suspect, they found several items of evidence that were related to firearms. They later found a gun in the bed of a nearby pick-up truck.

Police said the suspect, 18-year-old Bennet Miller, was then taken into custody.

Officers did not find any damaged property or injured persons as a result of the reported gunfire, according to Portland Police.

Miller was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of Discharging a Firearm in the City.

He will be arraigned on Monday.
