Timbers midfielder Diego Valeri picked for 2017 MLS All-Star Game

Timbers midfielder Diego Valeri is an all star once again.

Valeri was selected for the 2017 MLS All-Star Game roster Tuesday.

Valeri is among 24 MLS players picked to compete against La Liga giants Real Madrid at Soldier Field in Chicago on Aug. 2.

This is Valeri’s second time being named to the gameday roster. He delivered the game-winning assist in the 2-1 win over Bayern Munich at Providence Park in Portland in 2014.

Valeri was also an inactive all-star selection in 2013 and 2016.

In his fifth season with the Timbers, Valeri leads the team in points with 27, scoring 10 goals and delivering seven assists in 2017.

2017 MLS All-Star Gameday roster:
