Coast Guard responds to fisherman with heart attack symptoms off Oregon coast

LINCOLN CITY, OR (KPTV) -

The U.S. Coast Guard responded to a fisherman experiencing symptoms related to a heart attack off the Oregon coast early Tuesday morning.

The captain of the fishing boat Kandi Dawn called for help at 1:30 a.m.

An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter from Sector Columbia River responded to the boat 75 miles offshore from Lincoln City. The fisherman was safely hoisted from the boat and transported to Oregon Health & Science University in Portland for treatment.

An update on the fisherman’s condition was not available Tuesday afternoon.
