LINN COUNTY, OR (KPTV) -

A 65-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 20 Tuesday morning.

Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the crash near milepost 34.5, which is east of Sweet Home, at 10:30 a.m.

Oregon State Police said preliminary investigation found John Harvey Weeks was riding a black 2015 BMW motorcycle and travelling eastbound when the motorcycle veered into oncoming traffic for an unknown reason.

The motorcycle hit the side of a green 2016 Kenworth log truck that was being driven by 59-year-old Kenneth Keil Reynolds of Sweet Home.

Weeks was pronounced dead at the scene and Reynolds was not injured.

According to witnesses, Weeks was possibly looking over his shoulder while negotiating the curve.

After the crash, Highway 20 was closed for about three hours. OSP was assisted by the Sweet Home Fire & Ambulance District and Oregon Department of Transportation.
