MARION COUNTY, OR (KPTV) -

Two overdue hikers in the Opal Creek Scenic Recreation Area have been located.

According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the two hikers were found in the jawbone flats of the recreation area.

Crews said the area where they were found was 1.5 miles south of the whetstone mountain area believed to be the location from where they last texted their family Thursday evening.

The rescuers noted that the two did not request any medical attention and appeared to be healthy.

Deputies and volunteers with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and Linn County Sheriff’s Office were involved in the search.
