SANDY, OR (KPTV) -

Two people were injured after a small plane made a crash landing at an airfield in Sandy.

According to the Sandy Fire District, the incident occurred at about 12:30 p.m. Sunday at McKinnon Airpark, which is now a privately-owned airfield located at 12930 SE Ten Eyck Road.

The crash happened towards the end of the annual Fly-In Cruise-In charity event put on by the Sandy Kiwanis as a small Cessna aircraft was coming in for a landing.

A witness said the plane veered off to one side and the wing hit the ground, causing the plane to cartwheel before coming to a stop, according to Sandy Fire.

Four people were on board the plane at the time. Two people were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and the other two were not injured.

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office says the FAA is conducting a follow-up investigation.
