PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Police have arrested two people tied to reports of a carjacking Sunday in northeast Portland.

Officers from the Portland Police Bureau’s East Precinct responded to reports of a carjacking in the 2400 block of Northeast 151st Avenue just after 5 p.m.

The victim told police that a suspect armed with a gun stole her car, a 2017 Toyota Avalon, and fled the scene in the vehicle.

Investigators said the victim also said a second vehicle drove past her location several times before the carjacking. Officers responding to the area began searching for that second vehicle, a gray Range Rover.

After working with the victim, the victim’s mother-in-law and Toyota, officers were able to activate the GPS on the Avalon, which led police to the area of Southeast 127th Avenue and Woodward Street where they said they found both vehicles.

Officers said a man, later identified by police as 25-year-old David Gurrola, drove out of the area in the Toyota and led the officers on a short traffic pursuit before eluding them. The officers were able to locate the car abandoned a short time later and then located and arrested Gurrola.

A third vehicle, a red SUV, drove out of the area at the same time as the Toyota. Officers conducted a traffic stop of that vehicle and arrested a woman in connection with the robbery identified as 27-year-old Brittany Michelle Gregory.

Investigators said that the Range Rover had been reported stolen in early June from a residence in southwest Portland. Both the Range Rover and the Toyota were recovered and towed by police as part of the ongoing investigation. Officers noted that a handgun was also discovered during this investigation.

Gregory was booked into the Multnomah County Jail and faces charges of first-degree robbery, second-degree robbery and unlawful use of a vehicle.

Gurrola was also booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of first-degree robbery, second-degree robbery and unlawful use of a vehicle. He also faces charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a stolen motor vehicle and first-degree criminal mischief.
