Portland ice cream shop chain Salt & Straw wants to convince customers to eat their vegetables with its latest limited-edition flavors.

For its August Farmers Market Series, Salt & Straw is celebrating "local farmers market ingredients in ice cream form" with five new flavors.

Here is the full list of the new August flavors:

1. Carrot Cake Batter & Hazelnut Praline

Made with carrots from Sauvie Island Organics that are shredded and roasted, this spiced ice cream has a hint of molasses and is mixed with crunchy, candied hazelnuts and a swirl of cheesecake frosting.

2. Freckled Chocolate Zucchini Bread

Chunks of fresh-baked zucchini bread, made with zucchini from nonprofit FoodWaves/Converging Creeks Farm, are stirred into a chocolate-speckled ice cream spiked with cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg.

3. Green Fennel & Maple
Farm-fresh fennel from Sauvie Island Organics is caramelized and blended with Morse Farms' Vermont maple syrup for this ice cream flavor.
4. Fresh Herbs Sherbet
This green sherbet is made with herbs, whichever Viridian Farms herbs come into the kitchen on a given day—like basil, tarragon, and mint.

5. Aquabeet Sorbet (vegan)
For this ice cream, beets from Zenger Farm are grated with sugar then blend with Aquavit, a Scandinavian-style liqueur from Portland’s House Spirits.

Starting Aug. 4, the Farmers Market series will hit Salt & Salt scoop shops and be available for the rest of August.
