BEAVERTON, OR (KPTV) -

A boil water notice was lifted for Tualatin Valley Water District customers in the Beaverton area Thursday afternoon.

A broken valve on a 12-inch water main resulted in a loss of water pressure south of Farmington Road on Wednesday afternoon.

As a precaution, the Tualatin Valley Water District advised customers south of Farmington Road to boil their water until further notice.

The boil water area included around 5,650 customers.

After repairs were made, water district workers flushed the water lines and collected samples that were analyzed by a state-certified drinking water laboratory.

All samples were confirmed as safe to drink and the notice was lifted Thursday.
