FAIRVIEW, OR (KPTV) -

A mobile home in Fairview caught fire early Tuesday morning and sent one person to a local hospital.

According to the Gresham Fire Department, a fire broke out in some bushes outside the mobile home around 3:30 a.m. The flames then spread to the manufactured home.

Police responded to the fire and knocked on the home's door, waking up the two men inside. One of the men was taken to a hospital for burns on his fingers.

Firefighters weren't able to save the home on fire, but did keep the flames from spreading to the next door residence.

The Gresham Fire Department doesn't know the cause of the fire but wanted to use the incident as a reminder to the public not to take chances with grilling or throwing away cigarette butts due to the rising heat and dry conditions.
