PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A computer network issue is causing major delays to MAX service Tuesday.

TriMet reported that a disruption occurred while crews worked to repair another issue that happened over the weekend.

On Tuesday, there were problems with computer-aided communication between TriMet’s command center and MAX trains.

As a result, MAX trains were moving at slow speeds. Riders were advised to expect major delays Tuesday and consider using regular bus service.

Shuttle buses were serving stations between the Gateway Transit Center and Portland International Airport.

“We apologize to our riders for this inconvenience,” according to a TriMet statement.

Riders can call the ride support team at 503-238-RIDE for further information.

Once the network is stabilized, TriMet will conduct an internal review and take actions to prevent this issue from reoccurring in the future.
