PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A 21-year-old Portland woman was arrested on multiple charges in connection with the trafficking of a minor, according to the Portland Police Bureau.

Shanell N. Rix was arrested on Monday after a short investigation.

PPB said an investigation started on Monday after Beaverton police received information that a minor, who was reported as a missing and endangered juvenile with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), was in the Portland area.

During the investigation, police learned the juvenile was at an apartment complex in the 8200 block of Northeast Sandy Boulevard. When officers contacted the juvenile, she was in the company of Rix.

Police said based on information learned during the investigation, Rix was arrested at the apartment complex.

The juvenile was reported as missing and endangered out of another state. She is currently being taken home.

Rix has been booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of compelling prostitution, promoting prostitution and attempt using child in display of sexually explicit act.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact Sergeant Norm Staples with the Portland Police Bureau Sex Trafficking Unit at 503-255-0118 or 503-545-3391.
