One person injured in SE Portland shooting

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A male victim of a shooting in southeast Portland was transported to a hospital early Thursday morning.

At 2:55 a.m., police officers responded to the 9100 block of Southeast Tolman Street on a report of gunfire.

As officers were on their way to the scene, a person called 911 and informed police they were taking a victim of the reported shooting to a hospital in their personal car.

Officers and medical personnel contacted the driver and the victim at Southeast Stark Street and Northbound Interstate 205.

The victim was then assisted to an ambulance and transported to a local hospital. His injuries were described by police as non-life-threatening.

Based on preliminary investigation findings, the Portland Police Bureau’s Gang Violence Response Team responded to investigate. Forensic Evidence Division criminalists also responded to assist with the investigation.

Police closed Southeast 92nd Avenue between Southeast Woodstock Boulevard and Southeast Duke Street and Southeast Tolman Street from Southeast 91st Avenue to Southeast 92nd Avenue for the investigation.

Officers did not initially say anything about a suspect or what may have led up to the shooting.
