ALOHA, OR (KPTV) -

A three-alarm fire burned three homes in the Aloha area Thursday.

Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue crews responded to the 1500 block of Southwest 201st Avenue near Fritz Place at 12:50 p.m.

Multiple 911 callers reported the fire was spreading quickly from a tree and a fence.

When firefighters arrived, they found one house heavily involved in fire, with an adjacent house also starting to burn.

The cedar shake roof of a nearby third home also caught fire from embers in the air.

Due to the extreme fire conditions, coupled with high heat and low humidity, a third alarm was called out to bring additional resources to the scene.

Firefighters worked for more than 40 minutes to control the three fires and stop them from spreading to more buildings.

One man was treated at the scene for minor burns.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. A damage estimate was not immediately available.

TVF&R was assisted at the scene by Hillsboro Fire & Rescue, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and Washington County’s Department of Land Use and Transportation. The Red Cross assisted the three families affected by the fire.

Rehab units also responded to the scene to ensure the firefighters, who were wearing close to 90 pounds of protective gear, were kept cool and hydrated during firefighting operations.
