PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A burglary suspect arrested near a high-rise apartment building in downtown Portland is believed to have been involved in other burglary cases in the metro area, according to police.

Officers responded to the 2200 block of Southwest 1st Avenue at 11:48 a.m. Tuesday.

A burglary victim and employees of the complex provided a description of the suspect and his last known location. After a brief search, 57-year-old Terry Evans was arrested.

Investigators said Evans entered the secured building and attempted to go inside multiple apartments before finding one that was unlocked.

Detectives said Evans is connected with other burglary cases at residential buildings and he may face additional charges.

Evans was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on Tuesday on charges of burglary and trespass.

Anyone with additional information about the suspect or this investigation is asked to contact Detective Scott Chamberlain at 503-8230423 or scott.chamberlain@portlandoregon.gov.
