Vancouver man arrested on murder charge after body found at Arnold Park

VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -

A Vancouver man is facing the charge of first-degree murder in connection with a body found at Arnold Park.

Officers responded to the park near Northeast 42nd Street and St. James Road on July 26.

A body was found and the Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office determined the male, age not specified, was a homicide victim. 

The victim’s identity is not being released by investigators at this time.

The Vancouver Police Department’s Major Crime Unit, with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, arrested William D. Peek, 27, of Vancouver, on the charge of murder Thursday.

Peek was booked into the Clark County Jail.

Police said the investigation is continuing and additional arrests may be forthcoming in this case. No additional details were released Thursday about the investigation.
