Firefighters respond to unoccupied mobile home fire on Sauvie Island

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Firefighters responded to an unoccupied mobile home burning on Sauvie Island on Friday morning.

Portland Fire & Rescue responded to assist the Sauvie Island Fire Department at 8:58 a.m. on the 16400 block of Northwest Lucy Reeder Road.

The mobile home was on a large lot containing several commercial structures. The fire spread slightly to nearby grain silos and trees.

Firefighters were able to put out the fire and there were no reports of injuries.

Firefighters said the mobile home was serving as a project communications center and contained items belonging to several workers.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The Scappoose Fire District also assisted in putting out the fire.
