HILLSBORO, OR (KPTV) -

Corrections officials in Washington County are searching for a Hillsboro man they describe as a “high-risk sex offender” after he removed his GPS monitoring bracelet.

According to the Washington County Community Corrections Department, Dustin Westling, 30, absconded from court-ordered community supervision Thursday. Officials said he was last located near Southeast 21st Avenue and Southeast Cypress Street in Hillsboro before removing his tracker.

Under the terms of his supervision, Westling is not allowed near location primarily used by minors or where minors congregate, like schools, playgrounds, libraries or churches. He also can have no contact with his victims.

Officials said Westling is current on post-prison supervision for identity theft and second-degree escape, but also noted that he has prior convictions for first-degree attempted sex abuse, third-degree sodomy, third-degree rape, contributing to the sexual delinquency of a minor, failure to register as a sex offender first-degree theft, giving false information to an officer and improper use of 911.

Westling is described as a white man with a bald or shaved head standing 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 200 pounds with brown eyes.

Officials warn that Westling is considered a potential danger to the public and advise anyone who sees him to not approach him but rather notify law enforcement by calling 911 immediately.
