HAZEL DELL, WA (KPTV) -

Crews replacing a power pole in Hazel Dell hit a water line causing a large amount of water to flow into Northeast 68th Street Monday afternoon.

Clark County Fire District 6 said they were called out to the water main break at the intersection of NE 68th Street and 14th Avenue at about 1:48 p.m.

Firefighters learned that previously a power pole had been hit by a car and a utility crew had come out to replace the old pole with a new one.

According to Clark Co. Fire District 6, while the utility crews were drilling a new hole the auger hit a 12 inch water line.

Clark County PUD is on scene working on the break.

Four homes are impacted by the water flow, and the Red Cross has been called to the scene to help any homeowners out.

Northeast 14th Avenue is closed between Northeast 66th and 68th Street. Local-only traffic is being allowed on 68th Street.
