HILLSBORO, OR (KPTV) -

Hundreds of people showed up to a Hillsboro car show in honor of Kyron Horman, who went missing seven years ago.

This is the sixth year Kyron’s father Kaine Horman has run the event. Pictures of Kyron were on full display, in hopes someone would recognize him.

“It's a very simple concept, it could take phone share, someone recognized that photo, sees him in the community and the case is over,” Horman said.

Organizers also fingerprinted kids at the event for identification cards, because part of this father’s mission is to make sure other families stay together.

“I think it’s amazing. It’s a story people don’t want to let go, and it's overwhelming,” Horman said.

Horman says his son's case is still an open investigation, and he thanks the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office for their continued dedication seven years later.
