PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A reward is being offered to solve a 2007 cold case of a woman from Idaho who was visiting Portland and found dead on a deserted road near Scappoose.

The body of 27-year-old Misty Lavon DeVaney was found off Highway 30 on Aug. 5, 2007 by two people walking their dogs.

DeVaney, of Caldwell, Idaho, had traveled by Greyhound bus to Portland and arrived on Aug. 2, 2007.

She stayed with people she knew and was last seen the morning of Aug. 3, 2007.

Police said she may have visited north, northeast and northwest Portland before she died.

DeVaney’s half-sister told FOX 12 she was coming to Oregon to visit their dad.

“She never came to see him,” said Kimberly DeVaney. “She never called once she got to Portland.”

It’s a mystery that continues to haunt the family who are just hoping someone will finally come forward with answers.

“My dad, he sits in his living room every day and he looks at her picture,” said Kimberly DeVaney, adding, “I would just like to give him closure before he passes.”

Kimberly DeVaney traveled with her boyfriend from Washington to meet with detectives Tuesday in hopes of developing new leads in the case.

Misty DeVaney had three children, now 17, 14 and 12 years old.

Crime Stoppers of Oregon offers a cash reward up to $2,500 for any unsolved homicide and tipsters can remain anonymous.
