PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

The bomb squad responded to a suspicious device found outside a model train shop in southeast Portland.

Police were called out to Whistle Stop Trains on the 11700 block of Southeast Division Street at 4:02 p.m. Wednesday.

The Metropolitan Explosive Disposal Unit then went to the scene to access the item and render it safe.

By 5:40 p.m., police said the scene was clear. A shoebox was found containing a possible pipe bomb and two other devices.

A worker at the shop said a transient came in and said there was a pipe bomb in a box on the wall outside the building. The worker called 911, but the transient left before police arrived to question him.

Roads were closed to drivers and pedestrians on Southeast Division Street from 115th Avenue to 119th Avenue while police investigated.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police non-emergency line at 503-823-3333.
