Portland’s Missionary Chocolates offers grown-up Halloween treats

Posted: Updated:

Raiding your kids' trick or treat bag is so 2016.  This year, you can elevate your Halloween candy experience with some vegan, gourmet chocolates that are aimed at the 21 and older crowd.

Fans looking for a boozy bite can try the new holiday cocktail box with chocolates that are made with Wild Roots Vodka, James Oliver Whiskey, Below Deck Rum from Eastside Distilling and more.

Just in time for Halloween, Missionary Chocolates is chock full of vegan gluten-free candies like pumpkin-shaped truffles and chocolate mini-brains filled with pumpkin marshmallows.

Melissa Berry, the owner of the Northeast Portland chocolate shop, also happens to be a naturopathic doctor.

She just developed an exciting new line of chocolates made with pure monk fruit, which is a superfood that contains multiple antioxidants including vitamin C, and she said the confections are completely diabetic-friendly.

To see more of what Missionary Chocolates has to offer, stop by the shop located on Northeast 28th and Glisan or head to MissionaryChocolates.com.
