UMATILLA COUNTY, OR (KPTV) -

An Oregon woman attempted to kill her daughter by putting a prescription drug into her drink, according to deputies.

Roxy Brook Pridgen, 36, of Athena, was arrested and booked into the Umatilla County Jail on Sunday on the charge of attempted murder.

Investigators said Pridgen attempted to cause the death of her underage daughter because they had been fighting.

The girl became sick after drinking the beverage, according to deputies.

The age of the girl was not released.

Investigators said Pridgen reportedly has a mental illness and takes prescribed medications for her condition.

The case remains under investigation and will be forwarded to the Umatilla County District Attorney’s Office.

No other details were released by deputies.
