WEST LINN, OR (KPTV) -

Deputies said they have four people in custody following an early-morning pursuit in Clackamas County.

Dispatchers confirmed to FOX 12 that the chase began after deputies received a tip from the Oregon State Police involving the driver of a vehicle believed to be armed and dangerous who was headed north from Salem.

A deputy spotted a pickup matching the description from OSP and attempted to pull the truck over.

The driver took off south on Stafford Road and went through several side streets before turning back onto Stafford, this time headed north.

Deputies blocked the access to Interstate 205 to keep the pickup off the freeway, which directed the truck into a traffic circle near Wankers Country Store in West Linn.

The deputies deployed spike strips, which took out two of the truck’s tires, then performed a PIT maneuver, leading the truck to crash into a barrier in the traffic circle.

The four people in the truck were taken into custody following the crash, but officials still have not said why troopers were looking for them.
