Oregon State Police arrest man after uncovering Jefferson Co. drug lab

JEFFERSON COUNTY, OR (KPTV) -

The Oregon State Police arrested a 28-year-old from Madras after discovering a clandestine drug lab while serving a search warrant at a residence in Jefferson County Monday afternoon.

Joshua Joseph is facing charges including first-degree forgery, first-degree possession of a forged instrument, theft, possession of a stolen vehicle and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

After conducting an initial investigation of property crime, troopers executed the search warrant at a residence on Northwest Columbia Drive north of Madras.

While searching the residence, the troopers discovered the drug lab and other drug-related evidence. Officers with the OSP Drug Enforcement Section responded to the scene to process the drug lab and collect hazardous materials.

Joseph Was taken to the Jefferson County Jail, and he may face additional charges following a review from the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office.

The Oregon State Police were assisted by the Central Oregon Drug Enforcement Team, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, Jefferson County District Attorney's Office and the Jefferson County Fire District in this investigation.
