CORVALLIS, OR (KPTV) -

Police in Corvallis arrested a 46-year-old Wednesday morning after they said the man assaulted and attempted to stab a coworker.

The officers responded to a home under construction in the 2800 block of Northwest Margarita Place just after 10 a.m. after receiving a report of the assault.

When the officers arrived, they found two construction workers restraining the suspect, Ignacio Cervantez-Castaneda of Tangent, who they say assaulted and tried to stab one of the men.

Investigators said the victim suffered only minor injuries from being punched in the face during the assault.

Cervantez-Castaneda was taken into custody by the officers, who noted that he had a concealed .32-caliber handgun in his waistband at the time. The officers also reported finding a folding pocketknife at the scene.

Officers took Cervantez-Castaneda to the Benton County Jail where he is being held on charges including second-degree attempted assault, fourth-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm. His bail was set at $200,000.
